Product DescriptionThis is our first experience with DR beans, and we were impressed to find a fairly clean, crisp cup for a lower elevation Natural. Aromas of apple and nutmeg lead into a light bodied cup with flavors of apple and pear accompanied by malic acidity and hints of cranberry in the finish. City roast.
This lot was grown on the Ramirez Estate in the Cibao region. Red Caturra, Organic, Natural process, 1400m.
The Ramirez Estate uses fermented coffee cherries to create natural gas, which powers their operation. They pay their workers 300% above Fair Trade, and donate books and computers to the local schools. They also built and funded a school in their remote location to prevent local children from walking over 15km each way to class, and help Haitian immigrants obtain legal residence in the DR.
Preparation: This coffee is suitable for any preparation method.
